Every Sourhouse product begins with a real problem we've experienced ourselves. Erik struggled with a sluggish starter in his cool kitchen. Jenny knew there had to be a better way to design a starter jar that actually stayed clean. We don't just imagine problems—we live them first.

Our products are thoughtfully designed right here in the US, where we obsess over every detail. We partner with international manufacturers who share our commitment to quality materials, ethical manufacturing and high quality control standards. From the uniquely formed borosilicate glass of our DoughBed bowl, to the gentle warming technology in Goldie and DoughBed, we choose materials that perform beautifully day after day in your kitchen.

How We Ensure Sourhouse Quality

We test our products extensively—not just with our production partners, but in real kitchens with real bakers. Our quality control process ensures that every product meets the standards we'd expect for our own sourdough adventures.

When something doesn't meet our standards, it doesn't leave our facility. When we make a mistake, we fix it.

One benefit of being a small team of bakers, is that we can still be very hands-on with customer support. Sourhouse co-founders, Erik and Jenny, are still personally involved to ensure that we are making your baking life easier. When you reach out to us, you're talking to people who genuinely care about your baking success.

We cannot control the weather, the security where you receive packages, and many other things, but when we can fix something in our control we want to help. We also understand you might make mistakes and we want to help sort them out whenever we can. We appreciate how often our customers bring their issues to us in a generous spirit.

Our Commitment to New Ideas & Constant Improvement

We want to bring new ideas to your home kitchen by designing tools from the ground up specifically for home bakers and home kitchens. This comes with risk and even when we fall short we hope will at least keep things interesting.

Our designs combine handmade and machine-made processes to create forms you won't find anywhere else. This is the hard way of doing things. While others find it easier to copy existing ideas than to innovate, we keep pushing forward with original solutions that actually work in real kitchens.

We're constantly improving what we offer, developing ideas in conversation with our customers and baker friends. We create opportunities for you to test early versions so you can be part of our development process—because the best products come from listening to the people who use them.

Our Product Warranty

We stand behind our products with a limited one-year warranty on all Sourhouse tools purchased directly from us or an authorized reseller. If your product has defects in materials or workmanship within one year of purchase, we'll make it right—whether that's repairing your product or replacing it.

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal household use. It doesn't cover damage from accidents, normal wear and tear, or commercial use.
